Today while snuggling with Dallin my friend Melissa called. I looked out the back slider door and saw SNOW falling. I was shocked, it was just 78 degrees the other day. I was very excited. Melissa told me that she was going to pick up her kids from school early so they could play in it. I asked her nicely to pick up my Sam. I am so happy that I did, because by the time school ended it all had melted.

Heart Attack!!!

The boys and I heart attacked Steve's motorcycle at work today. It's early for Valentines Day, but the boys are in school and today was a half day. So today it was! Sam was a little nervous this morning that Steve would be mad. I told him that Dad would love it. (maybe a little embarrassed, which he was.) After the hearts were on his bike, we went up to his office to drop off some boxes. The boys could not keep the surprise any longer!! They told Steve to look out the window over at all the motorcycles. He laughed and told the boys thanks. We took a picture and took the hearts off and went to lunch. Then Steve did not go back to work!!!

My Sweet friend Lindsay from NC (she lives in KY now) is having her 3rd daughter next week.

I met Lindsay when we lived in NC and have kept in touch. When I learned how to quilt last year, I have been very blessed to make some pretty quilts for friends and family. I can't wait for Finley to arrived and have her mama snuggle her in this quilt.

We were at subway this afternoon for lunch. Sam bit into an apple and the loose tooth became really loose. He was playing with it at Target and grossing me out with how far it could bend. While taking a break from the Wii, he tried to pull it. Then asked for help, I grabbed a tissue and a couple deep breaths later pop it came out!

This year we had some Christmas Pixies come to our house. They shared with us the 12 days of Christmas Pixie Style. By the end we have a Beautiful New Nativity Set to remind us of the true meaning of the Christmas season. The birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

One morning the boys came running into our room to tell us that there was some kind of bird on our brick wall. Steve and I went to see what it was. We found this Beautiful Owl sitting there. We tried to get picture through the glass door, but they did not look good. So Steve slowly opened the slider and walked slowly out to get a better picture. This is the BEST picture we got. Sam and Dallin said "this has got to be a Daddy Owl." We asked "Why is it a daddy owl?" Dallin said "He has BIG Eyebrows like Dad has." We had a good laugh.

Ok, I am really late with this post. Dallin won his Kindergarten class spelling bee way back in Nov. These pictures are from the school wide Spelling Bee on Dec 9th. He missed his word - COLD. Really, I can't believe that was his first word, but he was happy to be in the contest. He is looking forward to next year!

This summer when we went to visit Aunt Jackie and Uncle Kevin, Kevin gave Sam some Art lessons. Sam loved every minute of it. Kevin drew a picture of 1/2 Darth Vader and 1/2 Ewok. After that the boys have been asking for different animal combos. Kevin came up with this, Hippo & Bear. The boys were in HEAVEN when it came in the mail.

I can't believe how long ago June 2009 was.

The boys just love the beach at Camp Lejeune, NC.

When we talk about our next move (Summer of 2013) my little boys always say they want to go back to NC to the warm beach with the little waves. This, Steven does not like. Steven wants to go back to Beautiful Camp Pendleton, CA. Steven is a California Boy all the way! He loves the warm sunny days, the cool beach water and the WAVES. As for me, I am really not sure where I want to be, as long as I have my 3 Boys I will be just fine.

This night was so much fun and just what I needed.

These lovely ladies are my volleyball buddies, we play on weds mornings at church.

We have a great time and of course there are lots of laughs.

We went to see U of A wildcats play Washington Huskies. The match did not end in our favor, but the memories of that night will last FOREVER.

It has been a LONG 8 weeks!

Steve has been in Virginia molding a few good men. Weeding out a few that were not Marine material.

He is heading HOME tonight and we are so very excited!! With him home I can sit with my feet up and just watch my 3 boys play together.

The start of a post back in July.
I thought it would be great to finish it. It was a long 8 weeks, but it has been great seeing the boys get to play with dad. Here is a little overview of our time with out Dad:

Dallin had his 5th Birthday
Steve had his birthday in VA (he had a great dinner with some friends that we know from NC.) -
Sam finished Kindergarten!
Boys Swam a lot.
I made a few quilts.
The boys had friends over to play & I had friends over to sew.
Went to CA to see Family/Friends.
Drove to Idaho with Grandma & Grandpa Ostler to see Aunt Jackie & Uncle Kevin!
Arrived home witha few day to clean up and get ready for Dad to come home.
THEN WE PICKED UP DAD!!!

I did get to rest and relax when Steve got home for a few hours.

Finally!

Done, with my 2nd Baby AZ quilt.

OK, baby is already born but really does not need it to keep warm in Sept in AZ.

This one was a BIG Challenge for me. New Pattern, take apart some of the strips, change the fabric, put back together, put on points, pick out lots of stitches, hand stitch some, sew binding on and a few more stitches by hand. I will be very happy when I drop it off to the new owner.

When I was in ID in June visiting her I wanted to make a hand stitch thing of my boys hands to hang next to our family picture. But sadly we never got to it. Then she made me this, I was in tears when I saw this. The time and thought that she put into this is just amazing to me.

Pain Patch

This little thing is pretty cool. I have never seen one of these before.

Steve hurt his shoulder, not sure how (it could be the 60lbs packs he carries on hikes or wrestling with the boys). He goes to a physical therapist twice a week.

Here is the other side. It sends Anti-Inflammatory meds right to the needed spot. It works for only 2 hours. A green light that flashes every 30 secs. to let you know that it is still working. It is pretty high tech.

As a family on Saturday we weeded the front yard. We had a big willow tree in the front until this February when it froze then was taken out in June. One of the boys found the root while digging.

This T-Shirt is one of my Favorites.

I stole it from my Dad, not sure how long he wore it for.

I had it for a while, then I sent it to Steve when he was on his mission in S. Korea (of course I sprayed my perfume on it before mailing it) way back in 1994. (I have a picture of him in it, need to find that.) So over the years it was been worn A LOT! I love this shirt it has so many FUN memories. Is it sad that I feel this way about a T-shirt? Oh well to bad. I do have some sad news, I put it in the trash the other day. Yes, for a while Steve has been telling me that I need to get rid of it, but could never do it. After the last washing, I looked at it and finally agreed with a sad heart. So, I say bye-bye to a piece of my past.

I wish I was ably to get a picture of the 6 SWAT Guys standing by the garage door waiting to go in. I do have A LOT of Chew spat on my driveway, thanks guys can you come clean that up now.

SWAT Rolling In!

This picture was early on. I can not believe how many more vehicles were there at the end.

Another SWAT Truck or as the boys were saying "Squat Team".

It was funny to hear them say that. But I was really hard to try to explain WHY the Neighbor Next Door to Us would do something to have all these people on our street. It was a Sad ending, then again trying to explain to the boys what had happened and why.

*****For the Record I was never taken out of my house by SWAT or a Sheriff Deputy. I was over at my friend Tricia's house. Really I don't think I would have ever known what was going on if my friend Melissa didn't call and tell us. Once we knew, we were running from window to window trying to see what was going on. Tricia saw a Deputy go toward my front door and then back to the street. We were thinking that he was checking to see if we were home. So, I did go outside and talk to a Deputy to tell him that I lived in the one story next next door and that we are safe. He thanked me for telling him and told me that we had a nice pool. He had been in the backyard knocking on our back door & windows to make sure that we were not there. It was a LONG 4hours or so (not sure really how long they were out there) I got my phone call at 3:45. We never heard any sirens. We did get to see the Bomb Robot go rolling down the street, that was kinda scary and cool at the same time. When it was all over we waited for the ok to go home. Tricia and Gary went home with us just to make sure we were ok. The boys fell asleep really fast they had a very busy afternoon. It took my a little bit to calm down.

THANK YOU ~ SWAT Team, Bomb Squad and Sheriff Department for keeping it all under control. Thank You to my Nieghborhood Friends for your concern for My Families safty while Hubby is gone. It was again a SAD Ending and I feel so bad for his young Daughter who might never remember her dad.

On May 20, 2006 our family of 3 became a family of 4! Dallin Gregory Pederson was born.

It was a crazy day, he was 2weeks early and Steven was in Iraq. Uncle Mark was at our house and was able to take me to the hospital. He walked the halls of the Hospital with my little Sam in the stroller. We waited about 1 1/2 hours for Grandma to get to the Hospital.

It all turned out PERFECT!

Dallin is ready for Kindergarten in July, loves his Primary class

(he does have a great teacher - ME).

He is learning to read and wants to do EVERYTHING Sam does.

He is a Great Little Brother & Son!!!

Sam went to his room one day after to school after telling me that he needed a lone time. I said OK and off he went. About 1 hour later he came out and asked me to come to his room and look at what he had done. He was so proud of this, and so am I.

NEW LOOK

It use to be light brown suede stuff.

I LOVE the Bright colors of this fabric.

I really hope Steve does too.

The bench looked just like the table top.

I thought that the boys needed a little softness to sit on.

I had A LOT of help with this. Tricia was wonderful & came over to tell me how much fabric to buy & measured everything. Then spent a great deal of time pulling all the old staples out of the bar stools (I owe her big time). I am so lucky to have a very talented Friend living so close.

In our house a few weeks ago we had 2 Sick boys. It was so sad to keep them home from school and not allow them to play with friends or go outside. On the other hand they seem to be a lot more loving when they are sick.

Yesterday morning I was feeling ok, the boys were being very good and Steve was out in the Dirt playing Marine for the weekend. So I took the boys to the Library to finally get our card. As the lady behind the counter was working on the computer, Dallin leaned over to me and said "I am so excited that I might die." I replied " Please don't die we will miss you, then who will I read the Library books to?" The lady behind the counter laughed so thought Dallin was so sweet. We picked some books out, got in the Van and as we were driving home BOTH boys were trying to read the books. I LOVED IT!

I made a mistake a while ago and bought to much of the Flames and Pirate Skulls. So the front are made out of leftovers! Saved some money there. Back of Dallin's

The boys LOVE them. The names on the back, my friend Tricia embroidered them. The boys love the different looks on the back and of course having their names on the quilts.

I know I have used this pattern A Lot, but it is so easy and fun.

This is my nephew, Alec. He is the first born, to my older sister Carolyn.

Carolyn started the love of Volleyball in our Family.

Carolyn, myself and Jackie (our little sister) all played in High School and on club teams.

What is even more Awesome is that we all played at Redlands High School. Jackie and I were even able to play on the same team! I was a Sr. and she was a Sophomore. It was a great yr.

I am so proud of Alec!

Steve has a Marnie Staff Sergeant going through the NROTC (Naval ROTC) program . He and his wife are expecting their 3rd child in May. Steve has been so impressed with my "Mad Quilting Skills" he asked if I would make a U of A baby quilt for them. I was so excited that I picked up the fabric on Friday and finished Yesterday!! This is the second time working with pattern and I love it!! This time I did make it with the 2.5 inch squares in the border. In the Bug quilt I was a little to nervous, so I did not try it.

Wow! We have been in Vail, AZ for 1 Year!!

Only 2 years left, until we are off on a New Adventure!

Sam's Valentine Box

Not to bad for LAST Minute.

I remember when I went to school we made our boxes a day or 2 before at school.

Maybe there is not enough time for learning and making Valentine boxes in the 3 hours they have in class.

We have to write his last name on the box, because there is another Sam P. in his class.

All the kids in his class call him "Sam Pederson".

When I pick him up at school and start walking back to the Van we hear "Bye Sam Pederson." I love it and Sam thinks I am silly.

Sam loves his box, he said "This box is AWESOME Mom! I know all my friends are going to LOVE it." That makes a Mama Very Very Happy!

My First Gingerbread House EVER.

It is DONE!

The Next Day .

We have had this Gingerbread House since before Christmas just sitting on the kitchen counter. The boys would ask to make it everyday. I told them they could make it when the playroom was picked up. Well after waiting and waiting it finally was clean! Then the next night it was back to a mess. They did not want to clean it up. So the house just sat there. I was getting really sick of looking at it sitting in the box. Then I started to think about the frosting inside the box. How gross it will be if I wait any longer. So on one Sat in January, I was the BEST Mom EVER and let the boys make the Gingerbread House, even though the Playroom was messy. I caved, that is all I can say. But the boys had a blast.

Can you see Sam's Pillow? It is the red thing in back of all Sam's friends. So Sam has been sleeping at the other end of the bed. He said that he did not want to mess up where his friends were sleeping.

Sam and Dallin thought it would be great to bring all these friends to bed with them.
They even had 2 Giant Dinosaurs guarding them, a Nerf shotgun, robot arm and we can not forget the 2 little Hulks at the top of the stairs!

Blue Dragon

Sam has had this Dragon since he was about 17 months old.

He has played with it or just snuggled in it when he was smaller.

It was a Christmas gift from my Aunt Dyane and Uncle Chan.

I have been waiting for him to grow into it.

I am SO Happy that it fits him now. He just loves it so much.

Dallin is even big enough to play with it, so of course they fight over it.

So Sleepy

Rough Saturday Morning for Steve.

He is up at 3:45AM and to work by 5:30AM Monday-Friday.

Then today, he had to get up at 4:15AM for a 6:00AM hike with his ROTC Midshipmen. After the long hike, he came home and cleaned the pool and played with our Boys. He works hard for us and we LOVE him. We just wish he was home more.
